The message about the fire that broke at the Tolimarjan thermal plant station (TPS) swiftly became a focal point of discussion among social media users.
Fortunately, the Uzbek authorities came forward to calm down the local public saying reports on the internet about a blaze at the Tolimarjan thermal power plant (TPS) in Kashkadarya region were groundless.
Because of the natural gas usually used at the station, the dust settled in the filters in the pipes supplying fuel to the steam-gas devices. The ignition was caused by the friction of the dust.
However, factchecker.uz found out that the fire happened and experts believed that it was caused by dust friction.
It is reported that no one was injured, and the filters were being cleaned and well-maintained.
After the repair work is completed, it is planned to restart the combined cycle.
