About Us
We are an aspiring group of independent fact-checkers (factchecker.uz) who are engaged in checking facts and the reliability of the information that appears in the news, on social networks, or in public statements. By identifying false information, data errors, or manipulation, factchecker.uz helps society distinguish truth from false.
Factchecker.uz experts skilfully use a variety of methods to identify, and verify information, and deliver their verdict after meticulously analyzing sources based on data, documents, or statistics. Factchecker.uz prepares materials in a variety of formats, either online where we act as independent resources, or in collaboration with organizations to verify the accuracy of their stories on the ground.

Fact-checking rules
1. Check the source: Assess the credibility of the source of information. Look for sources, such as reputable news outlets, academic publications, and official documents.
2. Cross-check: Use multiple sources to confirm a fact. If reputable independent sources report the same fact, it is more likely to be true.
3. Check the context: Sometimes facts can be taken out of context or distorted. Study the information in detail to understand its true meaning.
4. Be extra cautious working with anonymous sources: Information received from anonymous sources requires special verification. This is usually a less reliable source of information.
5. Be aware of bias: Information sources may be biased. Evaluate information considering possible bias.
6. Use online fact-checking resources: There are special online fact-checking resources for checking facts. Use them to verify information.
7. Be critical: Even if information is confirmed by multiple sources, remain critical and willing to reconsider if new information becomes available.
8. If you find fake information and don’t know how to check it, send it to us. We will tell you whether it is true or false!
Remember that fact-checking is an essential part of conscious information consumption. This will help avoid the spread of false or distorted information and contribute to the formation of a more accurate and objective perception of the world around us.
