On November 11, the Uzbekistan 24 telegram channel (public media company) https://t.me/uzbekistan24/71236 reported that a bear attacked migrants working in Russian forests. The message reads: “#Horror 🔞A bear attacked migrants working in a Russian forest and killed one person. The bear approached the workers' accommodation container and killed a man. Others just watched and could not approach the bear. Then the attacking bear ran away, but after 3-4 hours the hunters chased the beast and killed him. May Allah protect migrants in Russia!”
Factchecker.uz questioned this news and decided to check it out. Because lately a lot of false news related to migrants has been spreading.
As reported by the Russian news site "Izvestia.iz (iz.ru) https://iz.ru/1603461/2023-11-10/dva-cheloveka-nakhodiatsia-v-kriticheskom-sostoianii-posle-napadeniia-medvedia-v- iakutii, the incident occurred in Yakutia. The incident took place at the Chayandinskoye oil and natural gas condensate field. Two men heard a dog barking and went outside the container when they were severely attacked by the wild animal.
Other workers tried to save their colleagues, but this was not immediately possible. Eventually, the bear ran away. He was later shot dead.
The injured were urgently admitted to the local hospital with numerous deep injuries. Doctors are fighting for their lives.
